Hello Hammer I am Murphy. Look forward to talking with you on the Network!
Why this Ham Radio Club! We are a growing Amateur Radio Network located in North Central Texas. This network (group) is in favor of supporting both Analog & Digital Modes. Our network is built on simple principles - Freedom to use the network. Freedom to experiment. Freedom to connect however and whenever you want, as long as it's within the Amateur Radio license regulations (Part 97 of Title 47). So, whether we are your first stop on your Ham adventure or the MRN is just one in a line of clubs you have belonged to or currently belong to, you will find a supportive and enthusiastic group of Hammers eager to share their knowledge and passion with you! We encourage all kinds of experimentation and use on the network. Come join us and have fun, there is plenty of room in the sand-box. Our goal is to be the most welcoming easiest radio club you have ever joined.
This screen image is the connection status web page for the MRN HUB. Click On the above image, to see real-time information about which nodes are connected, and which node is currently keyed when there is traffic on the system.
The nodes provide the easiest gateway into the MRN system. You can use your everyday FM analog radio to reach the repeaters. Behind the scenes your radio signal will be sent across the entire network and converted into digital formats (DMR, C4FM/YSF) instantly. When your transmission goes across the network, your audio will be heard on AllStar nodes, DMR talk-groups, YSF reflectors, simplex nodes(RF), YSF/C4FM repeaters(RF), EchoLink, XLX reflectors and WIRES-X. From a distance perspective, that could include locations anywhere in the world. Click on image above for real time information.
This is an example of the DVSwitch Dashboard. The DVSwitch server is running on Raspberry Pi 4s along with the MRN simplex repeaters. DVSwitch is a set of tools that provides bridging capabilities between analog and digital voice (DVR). In this image, you can see the active modes and networks within the server. You could describe it like a Swiss-Army-Knife within digital voice and analog.
