Being part of the Murphy Radio Network (MRN) is about meeting new (those looking to get licensed as a Ham operator and those already licensed) enthusiastic Hammers with the same interest in both Analog and Digital modes and everything in between.
For those just looking around and are interested in becoming a licensed Ham we are here to help and point you in the right direction. The first step is to get your Technician ticket. Below we will provide links to two excellent prep sites (HamStudy and Ham Radio Prep) that provide narrated lessons, free ham radio flash cards, practice test, and a current question pool. Yep you guessed it you will practice on the same questions that will show up on your certification exam.
The Technician exam is a 35 question test covering basic FCC regulation, operating practices, and electronics theory. No Morse Code! In order to achieve a passing score of 74 percent or greater on the Technician, you need to answer at least 26 out of 35 questions correctly exam. Easy Day!
Once you obtain your Technician Licenses you can move right on to your General (35 questions) and Amateur Extra (50 questions).
